Scene of rare violence on October 29 near Sint Maarten. At 14:10 p.m., while a woman is walking on the side of the road, a car rushes at her and hits her head on.
The events took place in the vicinity of Defiance. Police patrols and paramedics were dispatched to the scene.
At the scene of the tragedy, the emergency services found the victim lying on the road suffering from a broken left leg. She was treated at the scene by rescue teams and then transported to Sint Maarten Medical Center.
The victim told police that she was run over by a woman - the driver of the car - with whom she had had a dispute.
The motorist then fled, leaving his seriously injured victim by the side of the road.
Police patrols were carried out in an attempt to locate the suspect, to no avail.
Later that evening, the mad driver showed up at the police station. She was immediately arrested and taken into custody. _AF
