The gendarmes taken to task by a group of individuals in Quartier d'Orléans

On July 11, around midnight, the gendarmerie operational center received two emergency calls signaling a brawl with a stabbing weapon in progress in Quartier d'Orléans.

Two gendarmerie patrols were immediately dispatched to the scene. Approaching the intervention site on Route Nationale 7 in Quartier d'Orléans, the gendarmes were suddenly and brutally taken to task by a group of individuals who threw numerous projectiles at the vehicles. A heavy stone will break the window of a vehicle and will almost injure a gendarme at head level.

No brawl was in progress. The phone call was malicious and the ambush prepared. The soldiers then took up a fixed position a hundred meters from the facts. Then, the determined group of attackers again progresses towards the gendarmes and seeks confrontation by throwing stones and insults. The soldiers will leave the area to avoid any escalation in the use of force.

A flagrancy investigation is then opened under the direction of the judicial police group of the Marigot brigade community.

Monday, July 17 and Tuesday, July 18 in the Orleans district, judicial operations allow the arrest of seven young Saint-Martin. Implicated in this violence in an organized gang with a weapon, they are all placed in police custody.

On Tuesday 18 July at the end of the day, their police custody is ended and they are notified of the following criminal decisions:

- the author of the malicious calls is indicted for divulging false information of a disaster likely to cause the intervention of the emergency services and will be summoned before the children's judge and the judicial protection of youth

- the adult individual involved in the violence is summoned to a correctional hearing in September 2017.

- three minors involved in the violence received summons before the judicial youth protection and children's judge or delegate of the Prosecutor.

- In the absence of a dependent, two minors are exonerated.
