The alleged author of the shots who seriously injured his companion on Boxing Day was arrested last Monday by the Dutch police.
On Sunday, December 26, a young woman was seriously injured by gunshot. She is still in Sint Maarten Medical Center in critical condition.
After having explored numerous leads on the whereabouts of the suspect, a plan to apprehend the shooter was put in place by the police.
The latter spotted the suspect behind the wheel of a car on AJC Brouwers Road, in the direction of the observation site "Harold Jack", where a checkpoint was set up to intercept the individual.
Thus, on Monday, December 27, at around 22:20 p.m., the police stopped a vehicle and arrested the suspect, who was taken to the Philipsburg police station where he was taken into custody. The case is still ongoing.
