Military exercise: First landing of the A400M Atlas transport aircraft at Grand-Case airport

0

The A400M Atlas transport aircraft is the largest carrier aircraft in the French army. It is perfectly suited to long-elongation missions to support overseas populations. The crew made the first landing of the A400M on the runway of the Grand-case airport on May 29.

This success thus confirms the possible logistical links of the largest aircraft carrying the French army, especially in the context of preparation for the cyclone season

Thanks to the A400M reconnaissance flight, Air Base 123 Orléans-Bricy will now be able to send its transport aircraft to Grand-Case airport.

Capable of landing at 100 tonnes while transporting 10 tonnes or more of freight, the A400M will be fully operational in the event of a natural disaster to assist populations or to rotate military personnel based in the Antilles.
