The Ventôse surveillance frigate left yesterday, at the end of the afternoon, from the naval base of Fort-de-France to provide humanitarian aid to the island of Saint-Vincent affected by the eruption of its volcano.

The Ventôse docked last Wednesday, at 8 am, in Saint-Vincent in the presence of the Consul of France.

The soldiers sent aid to the Saint-Vincent population.

Namely, 24m3 of humanitarian freight provided by the Americas and Caribbean Regional Intervention Platform of the French Red Cross (individual COVID protection element kits and cleaning kits).

75 tons of drinking water  including 45 tonnes supplied by GBH through its subsidiary Carrefour Martinique, 25 tonnes supplied by the FAA and 5 tonnes supplied by the Martinique CT.

Finally, 3m3 kits of individual respiratory and ocular protective elements provided by the Martinican hospital union.

Actors from the world food program, the World Food Program and the interministerial staff of the Antilles zone (EMIZA) are on site to assess the additional needs of the population.
