The monitoring of Sargassum alerts is still operational.
According to the synthetic mapping of the locations of sargassum banks detected from satellite images for the period from 02 to 08 April 2018, the presence of sargassum rafts in the area and the general orientation of the currents during this period would encourage their arrival on the beaches.
The risk of stranding is however considered to be “moderate”.
