The non-governmental and non-profit organization goes even further in its work to promote the conservation of the environment of Saint Martin by partnering with the In-No-Plastic project whose goal is to reduce and eliminate waste marine plastics through a variety of social and technical strategies.

Strategies such as making the population aware of changing their consumption habits or developing techniques for cleaning nano, micro and macroplastics. Initiative funded by the European Union as part of the Horizon 2020 research and innovation program which runs from 2021 to 2023 even if the project itself has already started in October 2020, In-No-Plastic will a large part in innovative approaches to the prevention, elimination and reuse of this type of waste. This will begin with a drive towards a drastic reduction in the use of plastic in Saint Martin, which remains far too present on the island. The consequences are dramatic, a large quantity of local single-use plastic ends up in the waters or on the coasts of Saint Martin, creating damage both to the environment and to marine life. It has become urgent to act, each on their own scale. The In-No-Plastic project will play the strategy based on a rewards system based on crowdsurfing, for example via the application produced by Empower which makes it possible to record the quantity of waste collected, thus rewarding users according to scores obtained, whether through financial or other compensation. The In-No-Plastic project has an association of 17 partners and 10 countries in Europe and the Caribbean. The Nature Foundation works closely with DCNA (Dutch Caribbean Nature Alliance) focusing the project on the Dutch part of Saint Martin. To follow closely on the website of the foundation or directly on their Facebook page which publishes a weekly educational column ... and clear as clean waters.  _VX
