"The economic value of coral reefs overseas is estimated at 1 billion euros," says Nicolas Maslach, director of the National Reserve of Saint Martin. Constituting a protection of the coasts by breaking the force of the swell, it is estimated that the reefs make it possible to save 470 million euros of development of the coasts in the overseas.
