The Cadisco petrol stations at Sandy Ground and Nettle Bay were very badly damaged. For several days, a portion of the soldiers of the 19th Engineer Regiment from Besançon who arrived at the BPC Tonnerre have been working to rebuild them.
At Sandy Ground, the container that served as a shop was removed so that a concrete slab could be poured into it and a solid structure built. At Nettle Bay, all the original buildings were also destroyed to allow a new construction.
These two operations were initiated by the prefecture. “A service station is certainly a private establishment, but it offers a public service, that of distributing petrol. It is therefore important that these two stations can reopen quickly. In addition, the one at Sandy Ground will allow boats to get their supplies, ”explains the prefect of Saint-Martin, Anne Laubiès.
