301.703 euros is the amount of the subsidy granted to the association "Observatoire Sint Maarten Saint-Martin / Territorial Chamber of the Social and Solidarity Economy and Health of Saint-Martin" by the elected members of the Executive Council. This sum will allow the Observatory to finalize its actions, which are part of a cooperative approach in the field of health between the two parts of the island.

Doctor Louis Jeffry, president of the association that governs the Health Observatory, welcomed this news with satisfaction. “This sum will compensate the 60 investigators in the field. They carried out a health survey on the inhabitants of both sides of the island, which is also almost finished, ”he said. This data will then be analyzed and a report will be submitted later to the Collectivity, according to its comments. The Health Observatory, largely financed by European funds, was created at the end of 2010. It is a cooperation project between the Collectivity, the government of Sint Maarten and the Louis Constant Fleming hospital. In June 2015, an agreement awarding an ERDF grant was signed by President Aline Hanson and Louis Jeffry for an amount of 578.777 euros. The COM then allocated 200.000 euros to the association for the actions of 2015. The objective of the association is in particular to collect and analyze social and epidemiological data, and to carry out studies.
