Entrepreneurship: ADIE, to help start a business

0

Since 2017, ADIE (Association for the Right to Economic Initiative) has been supporting and helping business creation in Saint-Martin. At the start of 2020, an office was opened in Marigot and, three times a year, “ADIE meetings” were organized, addressed to project leaders.

From February 1 to 5, the “ADIE Rendezvous” event will take place with as many workshops as possible on the creation of the company. “Why set up a business, what are the obstacles, what are the advantages, and how ADIE can help,” says Paul Vienot, regional director of ADIE.

Workshops which are carried out in partnership with Initiative Saint-Martin Active, the CCISM, Pôle Emploi, the Collectivity and other organizations.

Since Irma's visit, the association has supported and funded 172 people. “We have financed clients, but we can finance again”, affirms Paul Vienot, “the goal is to support people so that they enter, then, in a traditional banking system so, when their business is stable and viable, to claim greater funding ”.

Two counselors, Chiva Ada and Nickisha Henry, are permanently in Saint-Martin to take care of all ADIE clients, “because we provide support before, during and after”.

The amount of funding is limited to a maximum of 15 euros, and there is no minimum. The association mainly supports small-sized projects, with repayment periods that do not exceed three years, for the first request, but which can go up to four years for renewals. However, this financing does not come in addition to a bank loan, "we cannot use ADIE funds, as a personal contribution to go see the banker ...", underlines Paul Vienot.

Auto-entrepreneurs, micro-entrepreneurs, sole proprietorships, etc., everyone can benefit from ADIE aid. And to recall, “there is no minimum. If someone is in trouble for 1000 or 2000 euros, we can intervene, and that can help revive the business. You shouldn't hesitate to come and see us and discuss ”.

The ADIE association is present throughout France, and the Saint-Martin offices are located at 1 rue du Palais de Justice, opposite the gardens of the Collectivity.
