The State, represented by the delegate prefect Vincent Berton, the Collectivity of Saint-Martin, represented by the territorial councilor Martine Beldor, responsible for training, the service operator AKTO and the institutional partners, went to meet the socio-professionals of the territory, this Thursday, January 19 at the Grand-Case Beach Club, to talk about professional training.
The objective of this meeting was to present to socio-professionals the challenges of vocational training in the territory and the need to know their recruitment needs in order to develop a training plan adapted to the needs of the local socio-economic fabric.
Martine Beldor recalled the significant efforts made by the Collectivity of Saint-Martin to optimize public policies dedicated to vocational training and to resize public services so as to provide insightful support to people looking for training and employment: "We We must work hand in hand, because our first objective is to support our population on the path to professionalization so that they can find employment in priority on the territory, within Saint-Martin businesses. (…) It is up to us, institutional and socio-professional, to find appropriate solutions and structures. »
Each year, the Collectivity of Saint-Martin invests 1.7 million in favor of Saint-Martinois wishing to train, with the help of the State and the European Social Fund (ESF). Budget to which must be added the funding of training trainees (1 million/year) and individual training aid (€150/year).
Socio-professionals have indicated their wish to collaborate with the public authorities to predict the jobs of tomorrow and meet the expectations of the territory, particularly in the sectors under pressure of construction, health and disability care.
The Community and the State, whose objective is to build a 2023-2028 Training Plan Contract in perfect coherence with the needs of the territory, welcomed the comments and collected the resources transmitted by the professionals (questionnaire). The next step will be held on February 10, when the institutional partners will meet the training organizations to work on the training map.
