CCISM elections: how to prepare your list and vote

0

The next consular elections will take place on November 4. Some 8 business leaders from the French side registered with the interprofessional consular chamber of Saint-Martin (CCISM) will be invited to elect their representatives for the next five years. This is a list system; each list must include 000 names including 21 from the commerce-industry college, 15 from the trades-crafts college and 5 from the agriculture college as well as three alternates.

Business leaders, managers, craftsmen, etc., who wish to present themselves must meet certain obligations, including that of having practiced for at least five years in part French. They must submit their list to the prefecture between October 18 and 21. The lists will then be examined and validated by a commission set up for this purpose in accordance with the law. Then the electoral campaign will open until the eve of the poll. The statutes of the CCISM do not provide for parity on the lists.

This will take place on Thursday, November 4 at the CCISM-Maison des entreprises in Concordia.

At the end of the ballot, the list which will have collected the most votes will be elected; the results will be known the same day.

During the last election in 2014, around 540 business leaders turned out to vote. (soualigapost.com)
