Education "When students express themselves with the" magic megaphone "...

0

In 2018, young people from overseas are speaking with the magic megaphone. As part of the Overseas Assizes launched by the Overseas Ministry, a partnership between the Labs of stories and the latter was concluded in order to give voice to young people from overseas.

The megaphone is a symbol to signify that in this project, distance does not count and everyone can be heard.

As a reminder, the Labs of stories is an association law 1905 which works to promote writing. Recognized as a public utility, it has fifteen branches throughout the country, including two overseas branches. The association implements many projects with the support of the different ministries, the Presidency of the Republic and that of the different local communities of the different territories.

It is within this framework of the Assises that workshops were conducted in Reunion, Mayotte, New Caledonia, Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, Martinique, Guadeloupe and Saint-Martin.

Several workshops organized in schools

As former director of the Martinique Histories Lab, Madame AGNOLY Rosita went to Saint-Martin (March 15-16, 2018) to conduct four workshops: one at Hervé Williams primary school with a class of CM2, two others at Mont des Accords middle school with a class of 5th and another in 3rd and finally a workshop at Aline Hanson primary school with CM2 from Mr. Soudiagom.

The Saint-Martin students were very receptive to the activity because they were often very surprised that the floor was given to them.

They conquered their apprehension of the writing caused by linguistic blunders but their texts were of a high quality. Elementary students preferred to write individual texts while the college opted for collaborative writing.

The requirements are diverse but all come together to express their love for their island. Thus, this project was received favorably and we would like to salute the work of the teachers who made the project possible, as did the constituency of the Northern Islands without which our intervention would have been impossible.

Congratulations to the youth Saint-Martin!
