Education: Parents of students warn of "potentially dangerous situation" of school bus service

0

The parents' association, Upsem, questioned the community about the school bus service at Sandy Ground on "the" potentially dangerous "situation of school bus services.

Due to the car carcasses and other debris on the road, the buses taking the children from school to the school complex cannot cross Sandy Ground to go to Nettle Bay to pick up the children in the morning and drop them off in the afternoons. So they park at the roundabout of the tourist office.

“Young people are therefore forced to walk to the cemetery roundabout to join the buses. The problem is that all the lampposts on this circuit were damaged during the riots and we are in the darkest period of the year. Young people go up from 6 a.m. or even earlier, ”comments the association contacted by several parents.

In its letter to the COM, the Upsem suggests solutions, such as "for example  have the technical service repaired any streetlights that just require a new bulb or other small intervention. Or to have the presence of the territorial police to ensure road and pedestrian safety ”.

For the time being, as long as the Têtes Ensemble collective, the State services and the COM have not found an agreement on all of the demands, the collective will continue to protest. Regarding the cleaning of the road, if the COM admits that it is within its remit, it considers, on the other hand, that the State must support businesses to ensure their safety in their task, as happened in Quartier d'Orléans. , where COM agents, gendarmes and neighborhood associations cleared the roads.
