The 3rd vice-president, Annick Pétrus, announced at the end of last week the creation of a new territorial scholarship for higher studies: the incentive scholarship.

In line with the measures implemented by the community to support Saint-Martin students in their studies and encourage them to return to work in Saint-Martin in sectors with job opportunities, the incentive grant, awarded without conditions of resources, has vocation to support students in targeted skill areas for which there is a need in Saint-Martin.

Thus, this grant will be granted to students working in the fields of health (doctor, nurse, midwife, etc.), teaching professions, public administration, land use planning and tourism development. , renewable energies, new information and communication technologies, social careers, law and justice.

The incentive grant starts at € 2500 for the first year, € 3000 for a License, € 3600 for a Master I, € 4200 for a Master II, € 6600 for a Doctorate. It cannot be combined with exceptional aid for higher education mobility. The student will have to sign a moral contract with the community for a return to the territory, in order to exercise his profession in these job-bearing sectors. Additional assistance may be offered for the preparation of certain competitions.
