EDUCATION – ENVIRONMENT: Another superb edition of Sea Discovery Day

0

Last Wednesday, 58 children set out to discover Tintamarre thanks to the Métimer association. They were thus able to taste the joys of outdoor sports activities and marvel at the beauty of the islet.

Despite a 2-hour delay in transporting the children from Sandy Ground to the pier, the 45 primary school students and 13 middle school students from Quartier d'Orléans did not miss a second of this unique experience, which for the most part represented the first time they got on a boat for a short sea crossing.

With an effective program as the Métimer association usually does, the 58 young people bathed, supervised by professionals for optimal safety. After a lunch to regain strength after this swim in the natural environment, it's time for a short educational hike. The children frolicked around the island accompanied by the agents of the Nature Reserve who told them the story of Tintamarre, the richness of its fauna and flora, with in the background, an educational awareness of the environment, the biodiversity and the preservation of ecosystems.

Unfortunately, the transport delay did not allow young people to fully indulge in sports activities on the beach, but it certainly did not spoil their pleasure. Métimer intends to catch up with a new whale-watching outing project in January 2023, to the delight of the little ones._VX
