From March 7 to 11, 2022, more than 500 young people in different schools in Saint Martin will participate in a brand new educational, artistic and civic operation entitled "MIX'ART SAINT MARTIN".
In June 2021, Ariana, an educational association with a national vocation which works for the educational success of young people and the promotion of civic values through artistic mediation since 2009 with its MIX'ART programs, intervened in Saint Martin with a project in Quartier d'Orléans by creating two large Street Art murals and leading workshops with students from the Roche Gravée College in Moho and the Daniella Jeffry Vocational High School with the creation of a participatory Street Art fresco on the wall of the Stadium. The association is back in force for this new educational operation which will fully illustrate the potential for artistic expression and cultural openness of overseas youth.
The artistic week will be presented in three parts: Street Art workshops during which each class will produce artistic productions on the art and culture of the Caribbean, the students will be accompanied by a team of three urban art artists, two of whom from Saint Martin, ESPA and MASH, Hajar Masbah from Paris will complete the artistic trio. The themes therefore revolve around Caribbean art and culture, the history and geography of the Caribbean and of course, the environment and nature. For the musical component, music workshops around Mozart's opera “The Magic Flute” will be led by four professional musicians from France. And to finish, a restitution day (March 11) the morning of which will be devoted to a youth concert around “The Magic Flute” with the participation of classes with arranged music schedules.
A free classical music concert open to the public will take place from 20 p.m. to celebrate in music the living together found after these two years of health crisis. _VX
