07-02-18-pierre-agnes-quiksilverPierre Agnès had left to fish alone on Tuesday 30 January shortly after 7 a.m. Two hours later, the alert was given. Mascaret III, an 11-meter speedboat from the one who in 2015 became the CEO of Quiksilver (renamed Boardriders Inc. in 2016), was found overturned without occupant on the Boîteux beach in Hossegor. A week later, the ocean still hasn't returned Pierre Agnès to his family.

On Friday February 2, the Californian group Boardriders Inc. (Quiksilver, Roxy, DC shoes) had to resolve to publish these lines in a press release: "It is with deep sadness that we confirm that the research and rescue did not find our CEO, Pierre Agnès, missing at sea since Tuesday, January 30 »

Pierre Agnès, a former surf champion and member of the French team, was from Capbreton where he lived. He had started his career at Quiksilver almost 30 years ago, gradually climbing the ladder, until taking over the presidency of the group for Europe, then general management for the world.

A ceremony in tribute to Pierre Agnès will be organized this Friday, February 9 in the Saint-Nicolas church in Capbreton. A giant screen will be installed outside in anticipation of the expected crowd. Many surf stars will also be present.

Remember that the Quiksilver brand has been established in Saint-Martin for many years (store at Hope Estate) and contributes to the sponsorship of many sports activities on the island. _AF
