A seminar dedicated to staying in school - free and open to all - takes place this Friday at the Sandy Ground cultural center, as part of the mission to combat school dropout.
"We want to clarify this notion of dropping out of school," says Michel Sanz, the representative of the rector. The school perseverance week began at the start of the week in the Guadeloupe academy. This seminar has four objectives, as explained by Christophe Parisot, project manager: “Defining school dropout”; “Highlight actions on the ground in Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy”; “Conduct workshops, think tanks to generate comprehensive actions” and finally “produce a booklet” with all the information gathered during this event. The seminar will open at 10 a.m. and the workshops will start at 14 p.m. Among the guests, Eric de Saint Denis, from the general direction of school education (DGESCO-DRDIE), and Dominique Levêque, responsible for the mission to fight against dropping out of school (MLDS). A training day, for the attention of the personnel of the National education, took place Thursday at the vocational high school.
