Education: Review of the academic project in Saint-Martin

0

The national education services have just released an assessment of the actions for the 2016-2019 period of the academic project.

The project for Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy includes three axes: acting on pedagogical and educational practices to make all students succeed; secure student paths by ensuring equal access to qualification and professional integration for all; act on the support of actors in the education system; each axis including priorities.

“The declination of the academic project has made it possible to translate academic priorities into 33 concrete actions. They were at the same time the mark of a reinforced and rigorous territorialized piloting as well as the common thread of our collective action ", specifies the rector Mostafa Fourar.

At the start of the 2015-2016 school year, 38,5% of students in REP + and 28% in REP were late in entering sixth grade, compared with 19,6 and 15,9% at the national level. Two years later, the proportion has dropped by ten points. As for pupils outside priority education, a little more than a third of them were late when they entered 6th grade  in 2015 against 9,2% in mainland France, two years later, it is a quarter of them.
