Discovery: VCSG children visit the bird farm

0

On Sunday, December 8, the Vélo Club de Sandy Ground (VCSG) organized an outing to Parrot Ville Bird Park, the bird farm located at Bishop Hill Road Belvedere. Eighteen children from the club were able to participate in this guided tour by George Parotte and James Valentin of the bird farm.

The two masters of the place showed the exteriors of the farm and the children were able to discover, on a panel, the images of the birds and their origins. George Parotte and James Valentin explained and gave visitors the names of the different species found on the farm. Before going inside the places where the birds are, it was explained to the children that the birds did not like noise and that it was not necessary, in particular, to run. Inside there  youngsters were provided with cups containing bird food. If, at first, the children were surprised and somewhat timid, they gradually relaxed and were particularly happy to be with the birds which flew in all directions and came to peck almost in their hand.

After this pleasant moment spent with the birds, the visit continued to the museum where the young members of the VCSG discovered utensils that their ancestors used "an tan lontan", as well as the fruits and vegetables of the island._RM
