“I was very moved to learn of the death of young Alvin, 24, victim of a road accident on the RN7, near Mont Vernon, Friday, November 22 in the evening. A tragic road accident that mourns a Saint-Martin family and our entire community.
Our condolences and our sincere support accompany this family in sorrow, in particular the father of the victim, who works within our institution and to whom I send all my comfort.
The exact circumstances of the accident are not yet known, they will be established by the gendarmerie investigation which has just been carried out. While waiting to understand the circumstances of this accident, I can at this stage only renew with our fellow citizens a message of caution on the road, especially when they are traveling on two wheels, which makes them even more vulnerable.
Protecting yourself, respecting speed limits and wearing a helmet on each journey, even the shortest, seem essential to me. Life is precious, caution must be exercised in all circumstances.
My Vice-President Valérie Damaseau, in charge of Youth, as well as all the elected officials of the Territorial Council of Saint-Martin, join me in sending our sad condolences as well as all our support for the family and loved ones of young Alvin; he was a serious young man and appreciated by all. Her untimely death is a painful ordeal for her family and for our community. "
