1

“I hear with great sadness the death of our friend René Mathon. I am very sad for the members of his family, his wife and children, his grandson, and offer them the deep condolences of each member of the territorial council of Saint-Martin.

René has been a traveling companion and a faithful friend for many here. His investment in the service of our economy was exemplary, first as a trader and jeweler known and recognized by all with his Carat brand, then active member of the CCISM and president of the association of merchants of Marigot within which he invested heavily. René Mathon distinguished himself by his professional dynamism and his long-term involvement in the service of the Saint-Martin economy. We will also remember his extreme kindness and the always special attention he paid to each of his interlocutors. Saint-Martin was his heart island, an island he loved and served with all his energy. René will always be in our hearts and in our thoughts.

I renew on behalf of the Territorial Council of Saint-Martin and in my personal name my sincere condolences to the family and loved ones. "
