“Mrs. Daniella Jeffry, a Saint-Martin figure, will remain forever in our hearts and in our collective memory. She has been in all the battles for the defense of our culture, our values, our identity. Mom of four children, teacher, translator, historian, writer, Daniella was a fully accomplished woman, a solid conscience, a pasionaria when it came to participating in the defense of Saint-Martinois.

By its culture, its knowledge, its strength of character, it will have animated the local life and nourished by its knowledge and its writings of the generations of Saint-Martinois.

Involved in political life, municipal councilor from 2001 to 2007, anxious to preserve and publicize the history of her country, Daniella Jeffry has traced her path straight ahead and built her life over the decades, without concession, always inspired by her deep convictions and the unconditional love of his island.

Daniella Jeffry's inspiring journey is a source of pride for us Saint-Martinois. Professor of English, then French, Knight of the Order of Academic Palms, Daniella Jeffry has devoted herself to young generations, in Madagascar where she lived for several years, then on her native island which she defended at all costs. authenticity and specificities.

Passionate about history and research, she has distinguished herself through the publication of several books that today refer to Saint-Martin. Daniella was also passionate about the statuary evolution of Saint-Martin that she analyzed in two books: "The statutory scandal on the island of Saint-Martin" (2006), "Saint-Martin, objective statute" and through his presidency of the Consensus populaire association on the eve of the statutory evolution of Saint-Martin.

The quality of his career must continue to inspire us. We will keep the memory of a strong, committed, friendly, passionate woman, always open to debate to make our society evolve. Personally, I remember his advice and our lively and sincere discussions on the future of Saint Martin. She was one of my English teachers and I remember her rigorous teaching and the respect that the students had for her.
