The Collectivity of Saint-Martin has decided to honor the personalities of the island who have made a notable contribution in the sporting environment of Saint-Martin, all disciplines combined.
This contribution can be a direct participation as a sportsman or athlete, leader of a club or coach of a team, having made radiate the club, the team, the discipline and the island of Saint-Martin.
A list of personalities whose vocation is to appear on the Wall of Fame in Saint-Martin is being drawn up.
The criteria used are:
- Former player or former sports executive having distinguished himself by his career
- Young, senior or veteran
- Champion, athlete or coach
- Having been part of the selection of Saint-Martin or having evolved in individual sport
- Having obtained successful results on the island or outside
- A model and a source of inspiration in the sports world
To develop this wall of sports celebrities, the Collectivity wishes to consult the population and in particular the citizens knowing this specific medium (league, committees, clubs), in order to be able to select people recognized by all.
You are a club manager, coach in a team, you have among the members of your family or your friends an outstanding sportsman, you know in your entourage a person who fulfills all these criteria? The Collectivity of Saint-Martin invites you to propose that this person be registered on the future Wall of Fame of Saint-Martin.
The Wall of Fame will accommodate sixty places. A first series of faces will be revealed at the end of March 2020, while the remaining places will be gradually allocated according to the proposals which will be sent to the Collectivity. This project is an evolving collaborative work which offers us the possibility of officially recognizing the personalities who have contributed in the Saint-Martin sports environment, to enhance the talent of our athletes and our culture of sport.
To contribute to this project, please:
- Transmit the name and first name of the person you wish to honor,
- Provide a good quality photo, with the possibility of enlarging it in color / black and white
- Provide a short biography of the person's achievements
Proposals are open until Friday, February 28, 2020 at 15:00 p.m. at the Community Sports Department, whose offices are located at the Administrative City of the Community, located in Concordia, rue Jean-Jacques Fayel. Share your opinion !
