Covid-19 (Prefecture Communiqué): Terms of access to the territories of St-Martin and St-Barth

At the end of the National Security and Defense Council of January 29, the Government decided, by decree of January 30, 2021, to strengthen the criteria necessary for traveling from and to overseas territories.

For the territories of Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin, this materializes through the establishment of compelling reasons for traveling to and from our territories:

• personal or family

• emergency health

• professional cannot be deferred.

A sworn statement as well as one or more documents to justify the overriding reason must be presented when boarding. At the same time, the presentation of a PCR test lasting less than 72 hours is still required to Guadeloupe (including for transit flights).

 

Flights to and from Guadeloupe and Martinique: Need to present a PCR test of less than 72 hours and justify a compelling reason.

Since January 16, flights between the airports of Grand-Case and Rémy-de-Haenen (Saint-Barth) to or from Pointe-à-Pitre (including following a transit) must be justified by a compelling reason and require the presentation of a PCR test of less than 72 hours.

 

Flights to and from mainland France: Need to present a PCR test of less than 72 hours and justify a compelling reason from Tuesday, February 2, 2021

Thus, from February 2, any travel between mainland France and Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy must be justified by a compelling reason in addition to the PCR test of less than 72 hours. In the metropolitan direction towards Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy, the commitment on honor to carry out a 7-day self-isolation must also be presented.

People currently on vacation in Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy will be able to return to their homes without fear, this last point falling under the category of compelling reasons of a personal nature.

Thus, from February 2, any trip to Saint-Barthélemy must be justified by a compelling reason and requires the presentation of a PCR test of less than 72 hours. Thus, from February 2, any travel between Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin must be justified by a compelling reason. For stays longer than 3 days, performing a PCR test is recommended. These restrictions also apply to maritime transport between Marigot and Gustavia.
