0

The Prefecture and the ARS Guadeloupe, Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy inform that the English variant of SARSCoVv 2 has been identified in 9 people: 5 residents of Guadeloupe and 4 of Saint-Martin. These are mainly young people.

As provided for in the procedure, the current contact-tracing has been reinforced and the investigations to search for contacts at risk extended around these people detected positive. They and people at risk must comply with the measures prescribed by health insurance and the ARS. They concern respect for the isolation period and the strict application of gestures and barrier measures.

Close health monitoring by private nurses is systematically offered to positive people by health insurance.

These variant cases in Guadeloupe and Saint-Martin should prompt us to be cautious and respect barrier gestures, particularly during this Carnival holiday period.

As a reminder, the barrier gestures to be applied in the face of highly contagious variants are:

- Wearing approved masks for the general public manufactured according to the AFNOR SPEC-S76-001 category 1 standard or surgical masks.

- The distance of 2 meters instead of 1 meter.

- Frequent hand washing or use of hydroalcoholic gel.

- Frequent ventilation of the premises.
