COVID-19: 100 people died in hospitals in Guadeloupe last week

The number of people admitted to hospital in Guadeloupe has increased over the past week, says the regional health agency. There were 322 new covid hospitalizations and 29 new intensive care admissions.

To date, 94 intensive care beds have been activated in Guadeloupe, to which are added 37 intensive oxygenation beds and continuous monitoring. Yesterday morning, 86 patients in intensive care (74 Covid patients and 12 non-Covid patients) and 21 patients in critical care (intensive oxygenation), indicate the ARS and the prefecture. 341 patients are hospitalized in the medical department on the 414 beds open in the various establishments. 70 patients are treated in home hospitalization and 19 in SSR (follow-up care and rehabilitation).

Medical evacuations are continuing, in agreement with the families, to establishments in mainland France. 12 patients were evacuated on Sunday during a new Hippocampus operation. To date 40 patients have already been evacuated. 12 other people must be evacuated on Friday September 3.

Finally, 100 patients died in establishments in Guadeloupe last week: 65 at the CHU, 21 at the CHBT, 6 in HAD de Choisy, 4 at the CH de Marie-Galante and 2 at the Polyclinique, 1 at the clinic la violette and at the CMS. Among these 55 women and 45 men the youngest was 27 years old and the oldest 96 years old.

4 patients from Saint-Martin died this week and another passing through our territory.
