Community: Wishes from President Daniel Gibbs

The year 2020 has ended and with it a lot of turpitudes. I want to thank you because you have faced these difficulties with courage and selflessness.

I am proud of you and I know that all together, we will continue to give the best for our island and build a harmonious Saint-Martin, more respectful of the environment, open to the world, where everyone finds their place. 'he deserves.

This is what is at stake in my commitment to Saint-Martin, with my whole team.

Since 2017, we have been advancing on a winding path, which puts us to the test and often pushes us into our entrenchments. Despite this, we overcame these trials one after the other and learned the lessons of these unique experiences. The difficulties have also forged our determination to move forward and unite our forces in the interest of Saint-Martin and those who love this territory.

This resilience that characterizes us is not in vain, it defines our Saint-Martin identity, our way of being. We must always carry these values and be proud of them.

The important thing in a life course is not the fall, which is often inevitable, but our ability to get up and start again. I believe that on this point, we have proven ourselves!

The health crisis linked to the Covid19 coronavirus is not yet behind us. Nonetheless, we have come a long way in better understanding this pandemic and gradually getting involved in an adapted operation and compliance with health restrictions for the good of all.

We must continue this health fight, continue to fight collectively for the health of our fellow citizens and I know that I can count on your sense of collective and individual responsibility so that this crisis is one day behind us.

The new year is an opportunity to take stock and refocus on the essential: respect for others, solidarity, unity, family.

Saint-Martin is a jewel, let's be worthy and fully involved in its preservation. Let's take the time to analyze its strengths, measure the positive and recognize what we have accomplished collectively since September 6, 2017.

There is still a lot to do, but it is by looking ahead, keeping hope for the future, that we will be able to meet the challenges that present themselves.

My elected colleagues and my entire team join me in wishing you a happy new year 2021.

May this new year strengthen family ties and unity between peoples, may it be synonymous with sustainable development, mutual respect and collective and individual well-being.

To each of you and your loved ones, I send my best wishes for health, happiness and prosperity.

In this particular context, let's take care of each other. It is united and united that we will draw the best of what surrounds us to build the Saint-Martin of which we dream and which is within reach.

Happy new year my fellow citizens!

My best wishes to you and your loved ones,

Stay safe

God bless Saint Martin.
