President Daniel Gibbs is currently in Paris to discuss with the Élysée and Matignon the terms of the reconstruction and the aid that will be granted to Saint Martin.

Cleaning

- The community is making progress on cleaning up the island, 50 local companies are mobilized for this work. 90% of the axes are cleaned. The community is helped by the RSMA and the French Navy (Bâtiment le Tonnerre) for clearing. The navy's resources could be used for the demolition of irrecoverable public buildings.

- 11 waste disposal sites have been designated in the territory. Dumpsters have been installed at Sandy Ground to allow residents to drop off their waste.

- The objective of the Sustainable pole: Return to normal operation of the collection of waste and bulky items from 06 October.

- The population is asked to separate household waste from bulky items to facilitate the collection work.

Economy

- The interministerial delegate in charge of reconstruction, Philippe Gustin, will receive Les socio-professionals de Saint Martin at the CCISM, Friday, September 29 at 10 a.m.

- The CCISM is responsible for supporting companies: As of 27/09/17: 788 companies have reported their damage to the CCISM, or € 300 million of damage recorded.

- 350 emergency aid files for RSI beneficiaries were sent to Guadeloupe by the CCISM. Beneficiaries who have not taken these steps have until October 02 to do so.

- Tourism: evaluations of the various tourism activity sectors are underway (private / public), the community will be able to give more precise indications within a few weeks (November) on the possibilities of recovery by activity sector (restaurants- Guest Houses - Hotels - villa rental, shops, etc.).

Back to School

- The start of the school year is being organized, the Human Pole is currently identifying students who wish to return to Saint-Martin. This census takes place from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., until Friday, October 29 (former Bord de mer school).

- President Gibbs wanted the buildings or emergency accommodation that will accommodate the students to be secure and properly equipped before going back to school. The Rectorate will communicate on the start date.

Territorial administration

- The territorial administration has been relaunched. 1st phase on Monday September 18 / 2nd phase on Monday September 25 with a gradual return to normal.

- A civil status office takes place every day from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., Monday to Friday.

- A Civil Status office will be open exclusively for disaster victims on Saturday: Saturday 30/09 and the first two Saturdays in October, at the community hotel, from 9 am to 12 noon. This permanence will help disaster victims wishing to redo their official documents (ID - Passport, various acts.)

- The PSF identifies all the people in difficulty (accommodation problem, claim declaration for the uninsured.

News

- The traffic ban on Saint-Martin and the curfew on Sint Maarten are always fixed by mutual agreement at 21 p.m. until 6 a.m.
