Orange launches a fundraising operation for the victims of Hurricane Matthew in Haiti
Faced with the humanitarian crisis caused by the passage of tropical storm Matthew in Haiti, Orange is mobilizing to allow its customers in the Antilles and Guyana to express their solidarity with the Haitian population, by launching an operation collection of donations via SMS in partnership with CARE France.
So since October 14, and for a period of one month, any Orange Caribbean customer wishing to donate, has the possibility of sending the word "HAITI" by SMS to 98321 (premium rate number). The cost of this shipment is € 1,50. For each SMS sent, Orange Caribbean will donate up to € 1,50. All the funds thus collected will be donated to CARE France.
Founded in 1945, this international NGO is one of the largest humanitarian aid networks in the world, apolitical and non-denominational. Its objective is to fight extreme poverty and defend access to fundamental rights. CARE has a strong presence in Haiti and organized an emergency response following Matthew's visit. It will also participate in the reconstruction effort and continue to help the populations in the long term.
