Unemployment increased by 2,7% in August 2016 in Saint-Martin. The number of job seekers (category A) stands at 4336, according to the Regional Directorate for Business, Competition, Consumption, Work and Employment (DIECCTE) of Guadeloupe.
That number jumped 2,4% over three months and 0,5% over one year, according to statistics. Once again, young people - those under 25 - are strongly affected by unemployment. Over three months, those registered with Pôle emploi increased by 15,6% and 9,7% over one month. Concerning categories A, B, C, we note an increase of 3,6% over one month: 4830 applicants. Finally, in Saint-Barthélemy, 412 people are registered with Pôle emploi (category A), a decrease of 0,7% over one month. _EH
