In the parliamentary election, four parties stood out: United People's (UP), National Alliance (NA), United St. Maarten Party (US Party) and Democratic Party (DP). Theo Heyliger (UP) received the most votes, but no political party obtained a majority in Parliament: five seats for the UP, five for the NA, three for the US Party and two for the DP. The alliances started yesterday morning: William Marlin's NA and Theo Heyliger's UP signed an agreement to work together, totaling ten seats in Parliament. For this election, the participation rate was 67%, representing 14.483 ballots validated. The final results will be known as of October 3. _EH
