In plenary session, the advisers of the Overseas Group at the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CESE) last week examined an opinion on “The impact of unemployment on people and their families: better prevention and support”. As a reminder, Isabelle Biaux-Altmann represents Saint-Martin. The group thus highlighted “the particular gravity of the situation in the overseas territories”. The advisers stressed the need to strengthen “support measures for individuals and families”. To reduce unemployment significantly, “new models of sustainable development that generate jobs specific to each region” were also discussed during this session. _EH
