From Saturday 15 to Wednesday 26 February inclusive, the Carnival of Saint-Martin, 2020 edition, offered us a strong moment of sharing and conviviality between the organizers, associations, schools, participants, parents, volunteers and an audience of all ages have fun to forget the hassles of everyday life. And it feels good !
More than a popular festival, the carnival of Saint-Martin is a true intergenerational cultural event. Each year, in February, the disguises all more original and colorful than each other invade the city center of Marigot and its surroundings to the delight of the local population and tourists.
The carnival made in SXM is indeed the occasion of a great popular jubilation, where each one is invited to participate by putting on his most beautiful costume or by wearing a colorful makeup.
The only small shadow on the board for those responsible for the Carnival Festivals of Saint-Martin, several troops were not able to join the parade this year, the events of last December and the repeated strikes within the various schools in January can explain this. The creation of a troop of children cannot be improvised overnight. Ditto for the older ones…
