Carbets: after the rain, the good weather

0

On plot AW34, located at Orient Bay, several operators have already opened their doors. Others are still working on their premises since the handover of the keys in mid-January, hoping to welcome their first customers this week.

Attendance is calm on carbets. However, we hurry on the deckchairs installed on the beach to enjoy the site and relax. Not all of them have relaxed features and we can understand why: several restaurateurs have been carrying out work for a month and are facing many problems. The list of their worries is long and evoking it generates tension: a late arrival of electricity; a kitchen (which would not be up to standard) to be fitted out; beach bars to build; unsecured gas cylinders, etc. Some have paid no less than 8.000 euros to finally be operational, after several months of scarcity. By evoking this situation, emotion sometimes takes over. “We just want to work again. After a month of work, it's very hard on morale, explains one of the restaurateurs. We use our elbows. ” Several establishments plan to officially open this week.
