Colorectal cancer: resumption of organized screening

0

All the conditions are met again for organized screening for colorectal cancer (DOCCR) to resume in Guadeloupe and the Northern Islands, announced Ketty Karam Fischer, president of Agwadec (Guadeloupe Association for Cancer Screening).

“Stopped since December 31, 2014 throughout the national territory, the DOCCR was to restart with a new test that is easier to use, in March 2015. While some regions were able to obtain their tests during the first semester, the departments of “Overseas have experienced additional supply difficulties linked to their geographical remoteness,” said the president, adding that doctors in Guadeloupe received the first 12.000 screening kits in mid-September by the association. It is the cause of more than 17.500 deaths each year in France.
