Easter weekend road safety report

0

During the Easter weekend, the gendarmerie units remained mobilized on the roads of Saint-Martin in order to limit any excessive behavior leading to accidents.

Above all favoring prevention, checkpoints were conducted during this long festive weekend. In particular at the Hope Estate roundabout where the motorized brigade and staff from EGM 13/5 Sathonnay carried out checks mainly focused on excessive alcohol consumption (see photo). Thus, during this Easter weekend, the gendarmes of Saint-Martin noted 3 conducts under the influence of an alcoholic state, one with a rate of 1 mg per liter of exhaled air, which corresponds to around 55 gr of alcohol per liter of blood, a lack of a driving license and some minor offenses.

As a reminder, the legal limit of blood alcohol level is for a final permit at 0,5 g / L, equivalent to 0,25 mg per liter of expired air; an alcohol level greater than or equal to 0,8 g per liter of blood or greater than 0,4 mg per liter in the exhaled air constitutes an offense, that is to say a serious traffic violation.

Only one accident was noted with a very slightly injured person (scratches). As a reminder, other major road police operations will be implemented in the coming weeks.
