The Guadeloupe Volcanological and Seismological Observatory (OVSG) recorded in February a total of 104 earthquakes of tectonic origin, of which 74 were located of maximum magnitude 5.1 in the region. On February 12 at 8:59 a.m., an earthquake of magnitude 4.6 was recorded 53 km south of Saint-Barthélemy, 130 km deep. This earthquake was felt very slightly on the island, according to the observatory.
