AV16: Pastry and ice cream, fruit of their passion!

Jean-Pierre and Stéphane are truly passionate about their profession. The origins of the AV16 story begin a long time ago in Zonza, a small village in the Corsica mountain of Alta Rocca.

Granny Angèle, Stéphane's grandmother, ran the Victory café there. Cheerfulness and friendliness reigned there permanently. In this warm atmosphere which brought together the inhabitants of the village as well as the tourists, he discovered the taste for sharing. Helping his grandmother was a pride and a pleasure for him, especially since they ended the day in front of homemade ice cream. Years later, his meeting with Jean-Pierre, a friend from the Basque Country, aroused in him the desire to open an establishment where one would serve excellent coffee, good meals and especially homemade ice cream. house with local quality products. Their apprenticeship as ice-cream makers began in Drôme Provençale in the heart of a beautiful 16th century building which will give its name to their brand: AVXNUMX. To make their projects a reality, they flew to Mauritius and opened their first establishment AV16 by Angèle Victoria in memory of Mémé Angèle. To also pay tribute to the island that hosted them, they replaced “Victoire” with “Victoria” in reference to the Victoria pineapple, native to the Indian Ocean, and to the British queen mother who gave it its name. Their project has matured, Stéphane and Jean-Pierre's experience has grown and their passion for good homemade products remained intact! They will give you a very warm welcome.
