After a short visit to Saint-Barthélemy, President François Hollande will therefore be welcomed at the end of the day in Saint-Martin by the president of the Collectif Aline Hanson. They will go directly to the war memorial, in the garden of the Hôtel de la Collectivité, where the population will be able to attend the commemoration of May 8, 1945. For security reasons, the streets surrounding the Hôtel de la Collectivité will be closed to the circulation. President Hollande and the elected officials will then meet in private. At the end of this meeting, the president will deliver a speech broadcast on a giant screen. Before flying to Martinique, the head of state will dine around 20 p.m. with the elected officials of Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy.
