Back-to-school allowance

It is also for 16-18 year olds!

For families whose school children are aged 16 to 18, the teleprocedure to benefit from the back-to-school allowance (Ars) opens in mid-July 2017. Don't miss it!

Each year, nearly three million families benefit from the back-to-school allowance (Ars), subject to conditions. And if for 6-15 year olds, no steps are necessary, for the parents of the "older", it's time to make yourself known.

For your teens, no more school certificates to send by mail! "For several years, teleprocedure has made it possible not to wait for September and to anticipate school fees for 16-18 year-olds," recalls Marie Sainte Fare, family policy adviser at the Caisse Nationale des Allocations Familiales (Cnaf). And in 2017, parents can make their declaration online in mid-July, to collect Ars around August 20.

"To benefit from the back-to-school allowance or estimate the amount of his rights, certain criteria must be taken into account, such as household income and the number of children attending school," says the Cnaf adviser.

Are you a beneficiary and parent of a high school student, an apprentice or a young student, who has not yet reached the age of 18? If you are entitled to Ars, the Caf will contact you in July by email or by post to invite you to make this electronic declaration.

If you are not a beneficiary, you must download a form in the section "Online services> Apply for a service> Back-to-school allowance", print it and return it completed to your Caf.
