In Saint-Martin, many managers took part last week in the 3rd annual forum of managers of marine protected areas in the French Caribbean (MPA). The opportunity for participants to share their experiences.

Prefect Anne Laubies opened this two-day forum at the Mercure hotel. "The representative of the State raised the problem of massive sargassum strandings on our coasts, and undertook to look carefully at the conclusions of the exchanges between managers", indicates the Nature Reserve of Saint-Martin. About twenty subjects were discussed, including the new law on biodiversity and the project to create a network responsible for monitoring the state of health of the marine environment in the Northern Islands area. For François Colas, head of the Antilles branch of the Marine Protected Areas Agency, “the interest of this forum for all managers (…) has been to share their experiences within these natural areas of high heritage value. This will allow us to consistently send essential information to the Ministry of Ecology, particularly with regard to users ”.
