To celebrate its 49th birthday on Saturday December 10, the La Samanna hotel of the Belmond group in Terres Basses will bet on prestige and enchantment. Bet brilliantly won.
The guests dressed according to the chic tropical dress code were charmed tastefully by the dishes prepared by three renowned chefs with the presence of Marcel Ravin, Xavier Mathieu and the formidable Gilles Goujon, Meilleur Ouvrier de France with three stars, but also visually with several tables of dance signed by the talented choreographer Peggy Oulerich. For the occasion, a stage was set up above part of the Samanna swimming pool, to welcome the dancers presenting several thematic scenes with elegance coupled with an undeniable emotional charge. Eléonore Astier-Petin, general manager of the La Samanna resort & Spa in Saint-Martin, will have managed to convey to the guests her love of art and her joy at seeing them all gathered to celebrate the 49rd anniversary of this idyllic place which she has been in charge of for four years now. A ceremony was held at the beginning of the evening to reward the latter with the Epicure d'Or awarded by the Brotherhood of the Epicurean and the Knights of the Order of Epicure as well as the chefs present at the event: Bernard Prim, executive chef of La Samanna, Marcel Ravin, a chef from Martinique who received his second Michelin star in May this year for the Blue Bay restaurant in Monte-Carlo and who signs the restaurant's new menu Oursin de la Samanna, Xavier Mathieu, whose La Table is a starred place of Luberon gastronomy and finally Gilles Goujon, who literally seduced the guests with his revisit of the sea knife tasted with its shell and made to order by the great chef and his team made up in part of his sons. Talent is undeniably in the family. Other beautiful surprises are looming until the 50th anniversary of the Samanna, in continuity with this dream evening last Saturday. _VX
