LOCAL LIFE: The return of the Grande Braderie de Marigot is this Saturday!

After two years of absence, the heart of Marigot will once again beat to the rhythm of the famous market sale. The meeting is scheduled for Saturday August 6 from 9 a.m. to 18:30 p.m., rue Général de Gaulle.

Organized by the association Actions Économiques et Citoyennes de Saint Martin (AEC) and in partnership with the Collectivity, the CCISM and the Tourist Office, the Grande Braderie de Marigot is back in service, to the delight of the public and traders. . This Saturday, August 6 from 9 a.m. to 18:30 p.m., rue Général de Gaulle will be entirely pedestrianized, up to the Collectivité gardens. With the slogan "I love my shopkeeper, I buy local", the organizers operate in a process of revitalization of the city center with the aim of promoting and enhancing the shopping streets of Marigot by developing the quality of life, safety and, of course, commercial offers. Their desire is also to revive the mythical clearance sale which had been left in abeyance since the covid health crisis, for lack of authorization to relaunch the event and leaving the epicenter of shopping in mourning. The Marigot braderie allows the public to do good business with unbeatable prices and discounts of up to -80%. Yann Lecam, president of the association, gives us a concrete example: “On products whose price is usually €49, they will be available for sale from €5. “Sixty stands including ten surrounding traders will set up from 8 a.m. in rue Général de Gaulle where the public is expected from 9 a.m. this Saturday. In a popular atmosphere with an air of a fair, the Grande Braderie de Marigot also offers food and drink stands to regain strength between shopping sessions. DJ Marco will be in charge of the music and will host the flash sales throughout the day. While the grown-ups make (very) good deals, the little ones can have fun in a bouncy castle or try their luck at winning a duck fishing gift. For the occasion, rue Général de Gaulle will be closed to road traffic from Friday August 5 at 18 p.m. to Saturday August 6 at 19 p.m. to make way for the annual sale of traders in the sector.

For those who would already like to taste the joys of discounted prices, the West Indies shopping mall launched its clearance sale yesterday, a sale that will continue this Friday and Saturday as well. Bargains are also exported to Bellevue where prices will be slashed on Friday and Saturday at Bébé n'KIDS, Jules, Vibs and GO Sport. At the Howell Center shopping mall, Cocolito sells off on the same days.

Happy shopping to all! _VX
