The nautical brigade of Saint-Martin, located on the Grande Caye reserve, recently arrested a poacher engaged in spearfishing in the heart of the natural reserve.
This arrest follows numerous surveillance supported by the use of a drone. All of his equipment and the result of his fishing were seized. He was in possession of 5 lobsters, a sea cicada and 11 fish of different species. The individual remaining a Dutch party must answer for his actions before a single judge in Saint-Martin. The Grande Caye nature reserve is a sanctuary for marine biodiversity.
