The Executive Council of the community of Saint-Martin, meeting in plenary session last Wednesday (5 present, 2 absent), proceeded to the appointment of the members of the new district councils of Saint-Martin.
The unanimously voted deliberation allowed in its article 1 to fix the date of the day (July 04, 2017), the appointment of the members of the 4 district councils. Article 2 of the deliberation made it possible to fix Friday, August 03, 2018, the date of installation of the 4 district councils and the election of their respective offices.
In the introduction, the 1st vice-president Valérie Damaseau, in charge of the district councils, presented the new organization of these advisory bodies. The territorial executive has indeed decided to reduce the number of district councils in view of the recurring difficulties in bringing together members during work meetings, the lack of mobilization, the quota not being reached during registration. The new delimitation therefore provides for 4 district councils for the territory of Saint-Martin, with a more representative configuration of the territory.
The new boundaries are

1 DISTRICT:
Griselle - Oyster Pond - all sections of Orléans - Orient Bay - Belle Plaine –Flagstaff
2 DISTRICT:
Chevrise - Cul De Sac - all sections Grand Case - a portion of Savane and Morne O'Reilly - Mont Vernon.- Saint- Louis - Rambaud - CrippleGate - Pic Paradis - Colombier -Lotissement la Savanna –Friar's Bay.
3 DISTRICT:
Morne Valois- Approval - Hameau Du Pont - Galisbay - Port of Galisbay -la Colombe - Le Grand Saint Martin to Fort Louis - Spring - Concordia- Mont des Accords - Marina Fort Saint-Louis to the West Indies. Downtown Marigot –Saint James - Mont Fortune - Bellevue – rue de l'Eglise (Orangerie Boutique; in front of the bus station) Rue de Hollande to the Sandy Ground Tourist Office-
4 DISTRICT:
From the Sandy Ground tourist office - all sections of Sandy Ground and Terres Basses included.

After this vote, the 1st Vice-President Valérie Damaseau received the press to present the new device. She listed the elected members of the 4 neighborhood councils, who will be installed in their position (volunteer) on Friday, August 03, during an official ceremony.
The elected majority wishes that once installed, the district councils can fully play their advisory role with the territorial authorities and that they be a relay of quality between the administration, the elected officials and the population.
