All Saints' Day weekend and Halloween festivities: call for caution on public roads

0

The weekend of Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 October follow two public holidays as part of the All Saints holidays. This period of the year is the subject of festivities in the islands, in particular for the celebration of the Halloween party by part of the population.

The prefecture of Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin calls on everyone to be careful on the road and to be civic-minded, in particular when traveling on the sidelines of the festivities. Plan your outings by choosing a “sam”, someone who stays sober all evening to get everyone safe and sound on their way home. Choose to stay overnight or take a taxi if no one can get behind the wheel. Retain a friend who would have drunk too much and who would like to drive, it can save his life or that of those he might meet.

Police checks planned throughout the weekend!

The forces of the National Gendarmerie will be mobilized for checks throughout the territory as well as in establishments open to the public. Particular attention will be paid to the main roads and at all times. The sense of responsibility of each one in the respect of the highway code, remains the only condition to reduce the risk of accidents on the public highway and to avoid a tragedy which touches the family and the close relations. Together, let's all be responsible.
