The Plenary Assembly of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (EESC) unanimously adopted its opinion last Wednesday "Combating violence against women in the French overseas territories". It offers 40 recommendations, divided into six areas, to combat this phenomenon. The recommendation relating to resources is one of these areas. The Council calls for “deploying the necessary financial means to conduct a proactive public policy in all the overseas territories” and “requests the significant increase in the budget allocated to the Ministry of Women's Rights so that it is no longer the most small state budget ”. The report also recommends that all Overseas Territories set up a Territorial Observatory on Violence Against Women. _EH
